Very often when we lose a partner or loved one, we become somewhat socially isolated and quite often feel like 'the odd one out' at gatherings.
This group is dedicated to offering, those who feel they need it, a stepping stone back to a 'normal' social life by relaxing with others who share and understand their challenges. Come to one of our social evenings and see for yourself...
Our logic is...
'IF EVERYONE IS THE ODD ONE OUT, THERE IS NO ODD ONE OUT...'
PLEASE SEE BELOW SOME PRACTICAL TIPS PUT FORWARD BY OUR MEMBERS FOR THOSE RECENTLY BEREAVED:
Try not to make any major decisions during the first year of losing a loved one...
Be extra careful of 'scammers' as despicable people may try to exploit your vulnerability...
Do not feel guilty if you suddenly find yourself enjoying something or laughing...
Learn to cook for one or you will be cooking for two and eating for two!
Be patient and a sense of purpose (and achievement) will return...
Use your slow cooker to prepare a meal in the morning and you will come back to home with a deliciously inviting smell...
Use a light that can be set to come on automatically before you get home so that your return is not gloomy and uninviting...
If you do manage to go out one evening, ask a friend to come back with you into the house for a cup of tea and chat...
WE KNOW THAT SORTING OUT AFFAIRS AND PROBATE CAN BE MAJOR HEADACHES, SO ANY ADVICE ON THESE TOPICS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED...
